Briggs & Al's Run & Walk for Children's Wisconsin

For 45 years, Briggs & Al's Run & Walk has brought thousands of people together to run, walk and fundraise in support of the top-tier care for kids that Children's Wisconsin provides locally, regionally and nationally. It's one of the longest-running fundraising events in Wisconsin and showcases the steadfast support of generous individuals, grateful families and businesses.

The run and walk starts at 12th Street and Wisconsin Avenue on the Marquette University campus and ends at Maier Festival Park (Summerfest grounds).

Elite runners line up at the front of the pack. All other runners, line up according to your estimated pace.

Register in-person the day of the event
  • In-person registration begins at 8 a.m. on event day, Saturday, September 17. The registration tent is located near the start line on 16th Street & Wisconsin Avenue, in front of the Alumni Memorial Union. We highly recommend you register prior to the event. Please note: registration fees increase on the day of the event.

We encourage you to come early and stay late because we surround this event with fun for the whole family.

Children’s Champions (any current or former patient of Children's) receive free registration and their families are invited to a complimentary breakfast prior to the start of the race. The breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m. at the champs’ tent located on the northwest corner of 14th Street and Wisconsin Avenue (between Marquette’s Holthusen Hall and Alumni Memorial Union). Kids can also hang out with Disney princesses, Marquette athletes, Star Wars characters and participate in other activities prior to the race.

When the race finishes at Henry Maier Festival Park (Summerfest grounds), let the traffic clear up while you join the fun at our finish line celebration! Stick around and enjoy a DJ, food, drinks, children's inflatable games and activities for the whole family.

Free parking is available for event participants on a first-come, first-served basis in lots P and H outside Henry Maier Festival Park (Summerfest grounds). Enter these lots from Erie Street.

Shuttle service

A free shuttle service transports participants parked in lots P and H outside Henry Maier Festival Park (Summerfest grounds) to the start line of the race.

Shuttle service begins at 7:30 a.m. and continues until 9:30 a.m. A wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus is available. Please arrive early and allow extra time to board the shuttle.

There are no shuttle busses available after the race to take participants back to campus so be sure to park in lots P and H which are near the finish line.

Family drop-off

Participants with strollers and wagons can be dropped off at our family drop-off site located at 15th and Clybourn St. The person dropping them off can then go down to lots P and H outside Henry Maier Festival Park (Summerfest grounds) to use the shuttle.
