From playing with best friends since childhood in Winneconne to joining UW Oshkosh football this fall; football is a considerable part of my life. Over the years of playing flag football, pick up games, and school football I have found it is the community, coaches, friends and family that have enriched my life and helped me play the game I love. Giving back to that community is a part of who I am, and I have been blessed to be given an opportunity to do so.

I have received an invitation to play in the WFCA-All Star Game on the Small-School North Team at 12pm on Saturday, July 15th, 2023 at Titan Stadium, UW Oshkosh. While presenting an opportunity to play alongside great athletes from around the state, the All-Star Game provides a way to give back by raising money for the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin (CHW) to help children such as Carson.

On the outside, Carson seemed like a happy, well-adjusted 14-year-old kid in a loving family. But a series of life challenges led to a sudden mental health crisis and, eventually, an attempted suicide resulting in devastating, life-threatening injuries.  Carson’s story is a dramatic reminder of why we must reduce the stigma that surrounds mental and behavioral health and ensure families have the tools to confront it. One in five children in Wisconsin is living with a serious mental illness and our youth suicide rate is significantly higher than most of the United States. Every dollar raised by the WFCA All-Star Charity Football Games helps CHW change lives. With your generous support, we can make a difference for Wisconsin’s kids.  The struggles young children endure and overcome with the help of CHW is both humbling and inspiring. As a player, I am asked to fundraise to help these children and their families.  I am grateful for the response, having again increased my goal to $4,000 for this great cause.
