Chase’s health has been a rollercoaster from the time we first heard “laryngomalacia” when he was one week old. Although these first few months have been far from what we expected, we’ve continually been blown away by the kind gestures from friends, family, coworkers, caregivers and strangers who have lifted us up as we navigate our way through this time. We’ll never forget the meals, gift cards and incredibly generous gifts sent our way. We’ll never forget the friends and family who helped watch Brooks as we navigated an unexpected hospital stay and after as we transitioned to life with tube feeds. We’ll never forget the phone calls late at night from his physician wanting to check in or the nurse in the PICU who rocked Chase in the middle of the night so I could get some rest after the roughest day and being awake for 24 hours. We’ll never forget the small gifts and care packages given to help us feel cared for. And we’ll never forget the thoughts, prayers, support and good vibes sent our way—many from complete strangers. This has been a rough time, but it has been made so much easier because of the love and support of so many.
We are very much still on our journey with Chase, but in an effort to give back for all we’ve received so far, we’re raising money for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin so other families who are on their own rollercoaster receive the care they need too. We are so thankful to have the resource of Children’s in our backyard and hope you’ll consider making a donation to support Chase and the incredible care there.
