Thank you so much for coming to my Briggs & Al's Run & Walk page. This event and the mission it supports mean a lot to me and I am thrilled you took the time to stop by.
THIS MEANS SO MUCH TO OUR FAMILY! God has given us the most beautiful and charming boy in our lives...and God has given us Children's Hospital of Wisconsin right in our backyard.
Allow me to describe Dominic: HE LOVES LIFE! He loves tractors and farms and 4-wheelers and construction equipment. He loves libraries and playgrounds and sandboxes and the beach. He loves the Podnar cabin and the Nejedlo boat. He loves his mommy and daddy and cousins and aunties and uncles and grandparents and especially his baby sister Clare! Besides becoming a big brother in the past year, he also was chosen to be the mascot for the first American Heart Association of the Fox Cities Heart/Stroke Ball. At this sparkling black-tie evening, all he asked was "Where's the ball????" Yep, he has an engaging personality and is as smart as can be. He would be most happy to show off his newly learned somersaults to you! And although all of this is normal three-year-old stuff, we unfortunately can never forget that he has only half of a working heart...
...but his next surgery is on June 15th and we are ready for another miracle! God has big plans for this guy...of that there is no doubt.
Community investment in Wisconsin’s kids has afforded many of Children’s amazing accomplishments and has helped to pave the way for an exciting future. Here is a snapshot of what community support has enabled:
~ Translational research that improves patient care and outcomes and continues to move toward cellular therapies that will eventually prevent disease
~ Countless programs and services that support families and are not reimbursed by Medicaid or other insurance
~ Sustained extraordinary care in our heart program, leading the country with a nationally ranked, outcomes-based program
I can make a real difference for an organization making a real difference for kids. If you have it in your heart to help, please donate now.
