Who is excited for the 40th annual Briggs and Al's Run for Children's Hospital?
Hello! Thank you so much for coming to my Briggs & Al's Run & Walk page. This event and the mission it supports mean a lot to me and I am thrilled you took the time to stop by. Thank you.
2017 is the third year in a row my family and I are participating in this event. Initially we joined the event after my son was hospitalized at Children's Hospital with a RSV infection when he was 2 months old and we wanted to give back to the organization that was so wonderful to us during this health scare. Since that time, I joined the population health team at Children's and have a newfound appreciation, as an employee, for the organization and all it does for the community and state. Finally, as an avid runner, I love that this event combines my professional and personal passions.
Briggs and Al's run has a rich history in Milwaukee. The event began 40 years ago with famous Marquette basketball coach, Al McGuire. If you are unfamiliar with the race, the Journal Setinel did a great feature on it last year: http://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/blogs/chin-up/2016/09/11/chin-up-als-still-best-run-milwaukee/90094460/
Events like the Briggs and Al's run allow Children's Hospital of WI to continue it's mission to make Wisconsin's kids the healthiest in the nation. I appreciate and thank you in advance for your support!
