Hello! Thank you so much for coming to my Briggs & Al's Run & Walk page. This event and the mission it supports mean a lot to me and I am thrilled you took the time to stop by. Thank you.
Why am I doing this?
This will be the 9th year for Brian's Team. I captain a team in memory of my late son, Brian P Oberhofer who was born on September 4, 1986 and lived for 4 short days. Brian was born with hypo-plastic left heart syndrome, at the time, there was no treatment other than to do a heart transplant the moment they are born. There have been great advances made for children born with hyop-plastic left heart syndrome. Children's Wisconsin is a Center of Excellence for treating children born with this condition. Sponsoring a team helps kids, and I can't think of a better organization to support than Children's Wisconsin.
By running or walking in this event for Children's, I know I am raising funds that support the care provided to kids, from heart treatments and life-saving cancer all the way to life-changing community care. Every day, Children’s is working to make Wisconsin kids the healthiest in the nation and my support and fundraising is critical to this work.
Community investment in Wisconsin’s kids has afforded many of Children’s amazing accomplishments and has helped to pave the way for an exciting future. Here is a snapshot of what community support has enabled:
~ Translational research that improves patient care and outcomes and continues to move toward cellular therapies that will eventually prevent disease
~ Countless programs and services that support families and are not reimbursed by Medicaid or other insurance
~ Sustained extraordinary care in our heart program, leading the country with a nationally ranked, outcomes-based program
We can make a real difference for an organization making a real difference for kids. If you have it in your heart to help, please donate now.
Thank you!
